Any body have any links or advice as I am wanting to purchase a knife grinder for doing knives for a bandit 1590.Any ideas on pricing hoping for something automated where all four knives could be done at once.

Because I do not know the length of the blades, All I can offer is look up used Hanchet units or Simonds. There are a few others out there as well. Continuous coolant flow on the knives is a key part of grinding them. Alot of the less expensive units do not have coolant set ups, and it is easy to burn the knives. A used Hanchet -around 7 grand for something that can handle 4-12" knives at once ( hanchet really does not make small stuff) Simonds has smaller, not sure where there pricing is at used. I just recently passed up buying a smaller simonds, Price was a bit high, and pocket book was a bit short plus I really didn't need it as I have a Hanchet 6o" unit already ( I grind a lot of chipper blades as thats my business)

Talk to dave at american arborist supplys. His number is 1-800-441-8381. He upgraded to a new knife sharpener, and has the old one sitting around, and he wants to sell it to someone thats not going to be his compition.
