Chipper knives / blades placement and adjustment

I just got my (4) blades sharpened and put back on my disc (Altec)machine. The spacing (gap) against the cutter bar by one blade is different that the adjacent one. My machine is throwing stringy chips. Should I remount the blades from smallest (outside) to largest? Start all over and buy new ones?

On our vermeers we are supposed to adjust, flip or file the bed knife after each set of blades, ours come with a spacer to properly space the knives

Hmm, personally I would opt for new ones.

The blade edges should match. You can adjust the anvil, move it in as close as you can and see how that works. You might want to flip one blade to see if it lines up better. If all fails replace with new. Next time make sure your knife sharpener guy know that knifes need to match.
