I KNOW THIS IS THE WRONG PLACE FOR THE THREAD but i havent gotton any advice from the other areas ...im neding a new chipper fast ... ive found a 98 1250 12 inch vermeer chipper w/ 80 horse perkins and 360 hours supposedly ... from a equipment sales company that needs some cash fast ... they will take likely 9000 us ..or less ...... i found a brush bandit 250 98 model w/ good diesel maybe 90 hp for 10000 ..low hours .. and i have found several really good morbark chippers from florida ...the after math of hurrican work ...all near 14000 .... and mostly 9 inch chippers ........ the vermeer is sounding pretty darn good runs great but i always hear of maintence probs ......any advice ? :dizzy:

A 7 year old chipper with only 360 hrs must be quite a catch. Odds are the hourmeter is broken. Check into the Morbarks, or even the Bandit.

Bro, all I can say is buy as new as possible, and don't be shy to spend the bucks. Take the bite up front, all at once, and suck it up. Then, reap the benefit!!! And if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

i just brought a newer chipper i looked at a 1250 vermeer i thought it was too heavy, compared to similar machines.

i looked at the chipper today it was pretty awesome for 9000 ... i think the hours are likely correct ... it had a maintenance history from the utilaty company who used it ... it was extremly heavy and bulky ... also it has vertical feeds .... never used those befor ... the chipper ate a 8 foot by nine inch log in 3 seconds with dull knives ,,,the engine did not smoke even when crunk cold ... seems to be in really good shape just heavy and vertical feed ... ive seen worse for sale for more $$$ sheeeewwwwwww ??????
