Anyone on here do anything for the holiday season? I've received a few calls about hanging lights but turned them down. Just not really feeling it, though I've heard guys make some decent money doing that. I'm more thinking along the lines of selling trees, got a nice lot across from ours with lots of frontage on a pretty main road. Seems I could buy trees at 20 or so and sell at 40...better than sitting on my ass all day talking to you guys. Haven't really looked into it as the money ain't exactly what I'm used to and it's definitely something I won't try this year, just curious if any others around here get into it...

If there is a Home Depot or Lowes near you, forget about it. They sell their trees for $20.

Yup. Still think there'd be a market for a more "local atmosphere" type sales though. Some local guys got a big competition goin on just down the road from my house. 3 different lanscrapers/treeguys butting their heads with all the signs, flashing lights, grinches and santas. This is the other side of the county from my shop where I would set up. Kinda got me thinkin there's money in it, not money like I'm used to, but sitting on a chair sipping rum'n'cider and checking out soccer moms all day for a few hundo profit don't seem too bad.

Hey! What's better than sitting around talking to us all day?

You can get some good exposure doing lights though I would rather eat nails myself. Its always a pain, fingers froze up, lights don't work... but you got the bucket truck...

I see they have a little tool that fixes lights - " just plug it into a bulb socket and click"- I am gonna get one.

As far as selling trees: I have no dam clue but I see places set up everywhere besides Home Despot and Lowly's. We go out to a farm, take a hay ride, cut one down, drag it back and pay out the wazzoo. My wife is talking artificial and I almost brought home the leyland cypress tops from today.

I think youre onto something. treeclimber 101 could be the fat santa, you would be a great little elf and treemandan could be that creepy elf that gives the kids candycanes.

I bill out $200.00 per hour for putting up lights, plus my travel time, that's myself and the bucket, it is the most boring work there is and it is slow going,I would almost rather endure a good anal rape but every little bit helps...of work that is

It's hard , and contrived I know cause I can't ####ing stand you ! Gee that actually didn't feel forced at all , thanks

Well, I got nothing but love for ya tommy, I hope santa brings you great success and your 10thousandth gay post. I'd say that didn't feel forced or hard, but that sounds pretty gay.

Maybe you should give Murray some $ if your making so much doing Christmas tree lights:msp_ohmy: Thought you were in New Jersey til spring opening up a US shop? You can show Blake's how it's done? Sorry for the derail Chris
