watched some of the climbing competition at the uk cirencester show yesterday. first time i've really watched any competitions and i must say it was quite dissappointing really.
dont know if it was just cos there weren't any "decent" climbers there, but the standards seemed pretty low, no what id call fluent climbing going on.
anyone else go? i didnt hang around for the finish
so never got to see who won the thing

So next year you're going to enter and win easily, right?

If you don't raise the standards, who should?

Hi Steve

It would be interesting if you could expand on your comments, if that's possible. What part/parts of the comp did you see? What were your expectations? Have you watched a comp before in the UK, Europe, ITCC?

It just seems a rather ????ing post!

hi nod. didn't mean to offend no-one by my post.
that was the first competition i have seen, and i guess i was expecting to be blown away by the climbing supremecy and simply wasn't.
thats all!

If it was a little closer

I would enter next year.

I'm not saying that I'm a "decent" climber, far from it. However, I am a bad enough climber, that I would make the other participants look like Cirque Du Soleil. :D :D

Hi Steve

No offence taken mate.
I think it's important to know that the weather conditions played a major part in saturdays masters event, I was judging & at times could not even look up into the tree, the rain was so strong.

It would be good to take this discussion to a UK based forum as I would hope that there is much to discuss for many people.

Did you look in on the tree climbers forum at all?

The word they edit ed in the previous post was only d a m n ing so it really was no big deal!!

Nod
