I get the part about them not meeting emissions, but all these Chinese knock offs can't possibly be meeting these emission rules as most are copies of old saws no longer in production because they could not meet the latest emission standards right??

They are sold as kit's. Some dealers put them together for you, and some you can just buy the kit.

China knows the loopholes.

I was talking about 2 stroke outboard motors but you make a great point about chainsaws. so to get rid of all these crappy chinese knockoffs all we have to do is notify the CARB.
