Here's a shot at my first logging. I cut a few down trees Sat and the rest today. Here's a few sycamores my friend and I dropped. And a monster oak. The oak was a double crotch one good the other puffy. The 2100 did the job.

I have a portable sawmill coming to crank these logs out this week. I am going to have a new kitchen table made and the rest I will use for my new barn.

This is the one that after I choked up my tractor wouldn't budge. I had to cut the big fat pig up. I know you west coaster are giggling at the size of this baby. But here in NJ my property is considerd a forest. Ha

Hey Rock Star star, your house looks a bit different from the outside than it does from those pictures you've posted of the inside in the past!

Hi Mark, nice looking Bulgarian Bugwood. The Sycamore sure looks like Rock Maple from here.
If that isn't your chicken coop, could you do me a favour?
I dare you to wrap the mainline of your winch around that little grey shack and take a picture while you winch it in.
Anywho, it looks like it might snow down there.

Hi Mark, on second thought, dont lose the cabin, do what Doug did, build a bank out of it. Here is an example, but Doug couldn't get the footings square with the permafrost and all.
The silouette is of Doug writing me a cheque for 250,000 U.S., in an attempt to feather the nest.

I have been trying to nock that barn down for almost 1 year but my town won't let me put a new one up. I started to bring down the house but it's on hold for now. At least at my hearing on the 18th due to the chainsaw noise I can also address this barn issue. If I get the go ahead I will tape it.
I have the deal sealed to put up a Morton building and expand my chicken ranching for well over a year.

After doing a little mini logging this weekend it's hard work and Dancing with the devil. Wear your safty Garb kids. When I dropped that oak the helmet paid for it's self with just the small limbs dropping.

Tractor

Hey Marky,

What size tractor are you using?

Joe

The tractor I was using is a Kubota L3130, the thing smokes for a Gentlemans Farm.

For me to wait and take the barn down is no big deal, I am under some pressure from the neighborhood not to move into a larger scale chicken operation. With having a farm I do not fall under the noise, smell and light ordinance's setup by my town. Here's the problem. I am the only working farm in my town so they are pushing to drop the laws and I will be screwed. Never fear, I have Loop Hole Louey as my hired gun along with the county extensions and I feel we will give them the ol KO this Thursday.
