Is this a problem or is it just me. The saw has about 4 tanks throuh it so far. It has had a noisy clutch from teh get. At first it chaterd, now its just rough sounding not alot or all the time but noticable. My 385 was the same way new but smoothed out. COuld this be a problem? Anything need to check.
Thanks
Bob

if it's under warranty take it back, have the dealer fix it, shouldn't sound rough. bearing maybe----

May just be chain nose because of the inboard clutch....You dont hear it as well when the clutch is on the outside...

I hear some noise from my 5100 as well. I'm not too worried about it though. I assume it made that noise when the dealer had it too.

You will get a ping ting noise usually with a inboard clutch design. Usually more noticable when new before oil and sawdust insulate the noise. I have had no clutch issues with PS5100's at all.

Good to know Scott!

Thanks for the info Scott. Just had me worried a little. The saw is quieter then the 385 so that is why I do not notice it as much.
Thanks
Bob
