does the clutch on these Huskers have a lefthand thread like l think it should...and why is it so dang tight...locktite™ or some such..?
 
Usually, I'll use an impact to spin off the nut, then a blunt chisel and hammer to knock the clutch loose. This is for the separate nut and hub setups--older stuff I think. Newer stuff is one piece setup, and your impact will take care of this as well. Compression is typically sufficient to hold the crank in place.

Personally, I don't care to bang on the clutch with hammer and chisel when the crank is locked in place.

How much torque does it require to twist a built-up crank, or maybe a flywheel key, Mike?  I recommend the Uri Geller method of clutch removal.

just got off the phone with Uri...what kind of freak show saw shop is he running over there...I had to hangup on the dude...talkin bout tinfoil hats, yoga and such... ;)
