Coil

I have a friend that has a jonsered,but do not know the model number.There is a number on a tag(I'll get it for ya tommorro)Has a generater under the fly wheel and what appears to be the coil/ignitermounted in the starter cover.these two pieces are interconnected by what appears to be a button on the end of the wire from the generater.there is the same style button on the coil/igniter mounted in the starter cover so when the cover is installed on the saw,it makes contact with the button to the generater.The coil/igniter is the part I need.Does this make sence? Or am I going insane from two stroke smoke

Having the model number will help. I know my 521 has that system.

Perhaps it is the generator for heated handles.... Dolmars are set up in such fashion.

It is for the ignition system. If you can post a pic and point to the part you need it will help. This is the type with the plastic fan on the flywheel is it not?
