Anyone out there ever try to add color to chips without jumping in and buying a lot of expensive equipment? If I had a big market and it were profitable I might be persuaded to invest in some costly equipment and do it up right. I'm not there yet, however.
I once heard about a guy who bought an old cement truck for $500 and made a ton of money by buying chips, adding color and reselling the bagged chips to stores. Maybe there's a lot more to it than I've been told.
I prefer to buy equipment out of profits rather that to speculate and get in debt by adding equipment to make a product that I'm not sure I can even sell.
Are there ways of doing/trying this cheaply? I'm just tired of just giving the chips away if there are profits to be made. I have access to a finishing tub grinder but there's no point in making really nice looking chips that I end up giving away. Maybe adding color will make the difference.
Thanking you all in advance,
Dennis
