The guy that's been doing my greenteeth said that he's started doing some sandvik teeth. That's probably who I'm going to try but I don't know if you want to as he lives in Alabama so shipping might get ya. I'll give you his info if you still want it.

how much do you stumpers pay down in the states for your sandvik teeth and rock busters? just want to get a feel for what prices are out there.
im paying $12 for short plow and $13 for long, and $18 for rock busters. prices dont include shipping or taxes.

Think yourselves lucky you guys have a choice ! I have to get my sandvik teeth in from another country, UK, and they cost about 14 euro each plus shipping ! I use around 25+ a week on a easy week. Have a good quality diamond wheel on 8" bench grinder but find it's not that effective so tend to run teeth till worn and chuck them. Any one running the new extended shank short teeth from carlton ? have them on my 99hp 8018 and am finding they loose off a bit in stoney conditions.

Just reading my reply and to clarify - in stoney conditions I find the new extended shank short teeth are becoming loose and have to re-tighten the nuts not loosing bits of carbide ! And yes us poor souls grinding away in stone, you should all feel sorry for us !!!

i think i might buy a diamond wheel that fits on my angle grinder and just touch up the teeth every couple of days. it may same alot of time seeing that i dont have to remove the teeth to sharpen. i have ok luck with a green wheel now but its such a mess that i will be getting a different setup.

Wheel Wear

Davek---Do you find that the longer shank on the short tooth saves from wheel wear? I'm in rocky conditions also and seeing alot of wheel wear on my 7015. Thanks

Idadvanced, Im not finding any real difference in wheel wear so far. Have done 200hrs on new wheel set up for new longer short teeth and suspect it will be about 500 hrs and due for replacement wheel. I may go back to a wheel set up for the original short teeth since it would mean I would only have two types of teeth, long and short as my carlton 2010 uses standard shorts I could go back to taking worn shorts out of 2010 and putting them on 8018 till they are really worn out !
