Also you can change hp and torque curves on a motor just by changing rod lenght and this will change piston speed and side load also frictional hp loss by to short of a rod

Bottom line is this -> The quantity of Torque will determine the capacity to perform work. HP is a reflection of how fast said work will be done.

That's an excellent thumbnail explanation!

I want to paint a very simplified picture here. Think of a teeter totter. HP is the fulcrum on the 2 ends are RPM and Torque with neither one able to be zeroed out. Now think of the 2 ends as being on a bell curve. The more extreme the percentage of HP it is, the more drag is created. (so to speak) With Torque you start to pound the engine componants and the engine starts to self destruct. With RPM you build friction and wear. both build heat. As the fulcrum moves up so does both end of the teeter totter and to what percentage is torque or what percentage is RPM depends on the design of the engine componants. If you want to understand HP, torque and RPM do a little research on steam engines. Steam engines have no limit to the HP they can produce other than the components ability to hold together.

Ahh, yes...

You read my question, but obviously didn't answer it?

How much would a normally aspirated diesel weigh to put in an automobile and push 200 MPH?

So you answer with a link to a dragster with a forcefed Cummins that makes it to 167 MPH for a split second.

I know, different animal turboed. Can't compare apples to oranges, even though we try. That engine had no modified internals if the site is to be believed, at least not when the 8 second run was made. Bet it didn't cost as much as that NASCAR engine........ My point was there are other options to making power. Yes it is heavier than the V8 gasser too! Put it in a circle car with the right gearing, it will do your 200 mph. Probably not without the turbo though, I'll give you that!

It's Simonizer's holiday!!!!

Today is the international day for the mentally disabled.

Please send an encouraging message to a mentally retarded friend--as I have just done for you.

Just thought I'd let your retarded butt know I don't mind being friends with you.

I don't care if you lick windows or even if you wear a football helmet to work.

It doesn't bother me that you wear your underwear on the outside of your pants.

All I ask is that when we go to a resturant, you drive so we can park up front.

You hang on in there because you are doing great!

You are special, so keep trying! Have a great day!
