We have recently purchased a bucket truck and its very hard to communicate when everything is running, does anyone know of a good 2/3 communication tool? other than shouting :). We have looked at RE but they are more based for sports and are very $$$$. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Why not cell phones?

We use cell phones with blue tooth earpieces now, but used toy walkie talkies for years without any problems. It looked like the same innards as the more expensive "adult" units.

I have the Sena units and they are very good. The only serious competitor to it is scala, but their products just aren't as suitable for the kind of work we do. There are many options/kits available from sena, and they seem to be pretty reliable based on the use I've had out of ours (about 6 months now)

Our crew is very happy with the Ropetek system. A guy can literally be feeding the chipper and talking to a climber with no excess noise or distortion. We get a lot of comments on how quiet our sites are concerning verbal communication. Not much you can do about the equipment noise. Having the climber, crane operator, and a ground man in constant communication without yelling and hand gestures is a beautiful thing.
