Was breaking in the 7900 I got for the guy I quit working for today, first time I ran one in the woods, (had borrowed rbtrees but only used it in town) great saw funny that they sell it with half wraps, I mean it is a falling saw. But several times I bumped the compression release with my thigh or brush and the obvious would happen, really kind of a poor spot for it. anyone else? Also just looking at the saw it seems like the full wraps from Stihl will fit on perfect will try iut tomorrw.

I personally have never hit the compression release before. I have accidentally brushed the kill switch. It was my fault.

same as Hunter , I have never hit it either , It is just a difference where you live on the handle bar , out here they cut the full wrap off cause you have to cut close to the ground and it gets in the way

Ever burn the "important message finger" trying to find the DKom valve on saws with it on the other side?

Ouch, then you'll know why Dolmar has it on the correct side.

Speaking of decomp valves, I don't generaly use them, but today I came up with a new fangled idea for choking my 385, since it doesn't have a choke baffle.
Anyway, with the switch off and the heel of my palm in the venturi, I went for the decomp to make pulling it over easier, but the decomp was gone! I mean it wasn't even there, as in hidden somewhere on the forest floor.
Undetered, I used the saw all day, with no noticeable loss in power, but you could feel some gas/air mixture escaping, so I better get a plug to block it off. I wonder if the escaping mix when set on fire, would double as a flame thrower?
Does anyone have a part #, or the thread size?
Thanks,
John

wiley...lay off the steroids, your thighs will get smaller...and quite working in all that slide alder and devils club, get into some real timber, maybe the button wont bite ya.

Gypo it should be 10mm by 1, any hardware store will have a bolt just cut it to lenght or go to your husky dealer if he is a nice guy youy will get a plug cheap if not it is going to cost you like $22 for a husky plug

Gypo are you coming up tomorrow to run this rotax, they just donot turn my crank

I would like to see some video of Gypo running the rotax. I have not seen many videos from him lately and need some good viewing material. Light, Camera Action!
Come on Gypo, your movie making career is just getting started.

Has your race chain building been getting in the way? I am Sure you like that new Pro Sharp, and why wouldn't you? YOu are really gonna turn some fast chains out now.

Gypo is in the logging mode right now , cutting green gold but i am sure there is some video's coming, he never leaves home with out his cameras but please Gypo keep your clothes on this time , i think you messed up my computer , it thought it had a bad virus but it figured it out , just a bad picture of Gypo

Mcsaw we will have to wait until I can talk to the cleaning wench, she will let me know if Gypo is bored and stroked but most likely she is going to say he is a small bore with a short stroke and why wouldn't she

So thats why gypo runns that 088, to compensate for other things.
LOL. Just kidding Big John.

I almost forgot, I went to my Husky dealer and he gave me a bolt to plug the hole, I mean the decomp hole. He said my KD385 simply has too much power and spit the plug out, and why wouldn't it?

To much compression maybe, to much HP, don't make me laugh! It's only a woods modded slushski.

John I have the Fourth of july all worked out for you and Ed. Bring the 385kd and we can run them side by side. I have tons of logs here now. Plus if the 2 of you aren't scared I will take you boys in the city for the fireworks.Yes you can wear flannel.
