It depends. How do you plan on doing this???? Adjusting the thickness of the cylinder base gasket? head gasket? shaving the head? shaving the deck? There are different ways to raise the cylinder cranking pressure, some ways will be advantagous, while others will hinder the performance.
I'm sure there are many here who know chainsaw motors much better than me, but shaving the cylinder can be either good or bad. Yes, it will increase power, but, if the squish band becomes too thin, preignition can happen causing damage to the piston and/or head. Before doing anything like that, it's best to consult with someone who knows the particular motor in case the head has to be modified too. Good luck.
