A local dealer is trying to sell me a Conehead 565 ( $40,000 / 980hrs)... Is this a good machine? It is now discontinued... I wonder why:confused:
Thanks a lot,

the dynamic machines are overall a bad design. lot of issues. if you need a big machine look at bandit or morbark

Could you elaborate on this? I'm interested in getting a decent sized chipper(Something that will take about a 20" trunk) and dynamic is making some bold claims, such as stating their machines run 30 - 60% more efficiently. Using less horsepower and less fuel to do the job. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well if your looking for a large machine i have one in stock that will blow your mind away. its a 06 morbark hurricane , 225hp deere engine. 1000 hours. 32inch infeed with a 24 inch drum. it will take 24 inch material all day, the machine has a winch , hydraulic jack leg and many other options. for the money, only 34,000 you can have that chipper, check it out on my web site

no for the dynamic, im not one to bad mouth a company. i can only tell you what problems we have had in the past with machines being that my business services about 1500 chippers a year, all makes and models, my experience with dynamic is there under built, huge amounts of vibration cause the machines to crack and fall apart, the factory paint jobs are HORRENDOUS. the feed systems are designed well but with major flaws. exposed pumps and feed motors. lines and chain driven feed wheels = a bad overall design. as for there claims that there machines are more fuel efficient , thats bull crap. obviously a company who sells machines will make whatever claim the customer whats to hear to sell them a machine. buy a morbark or a bandit and be done with it. both are equally great machines ! and last but not least dynamic only lasted in business about 6 years and went under due to there flaws and major mechanical issues with machines that they were not able to afford to warranty so they went under. since going under they were bought out by barko, a barko rep was in my shop trying to get us to be a dealer for this territory in PA, he explained that barko is redesigning the machines and trying to take out all the flaws. still i personally would not buy a machine till all the flaws are worked out for a few years on the production line. end result is i refused to sell dynamic machines. i have no interest in dealing with angry customers who pay 50,000+ for a chipper and cant get it warrantied.

Thank you so much for the info. That morbark does sound like a beast. I will definitely be checking out that model. I did hear that about Dynamic. That they were bought out by barko. However I heard that they(Dynamic) went under for a short time because they sold out to a company called norco or something like that to help them keep up with orders and then that company went bankrupt, so as did Dynamic. I did see one run and it was impressive but I think I take your word for it. Since you have worked on a lot of them. Thanks Again!!
