The convention was a blast today. Lots of cool toys the usual plus a lot of things I never even thought of.
Most popular climbing items seemed to be the German FC, and the Lockjack "adjuster" on a flip line. I bought the first but not the second. Though I think the 2nd is a better tool. Super smooth and smooth under pressure. Emphasis on "smooth under tension".
The cube is really cool but $75!!! Greg Good mentioned a place to get it in the US for $45. At $45, it is worth it!!
I like the Edelrid rope, it is like the XTC (yale). My complaint would be the stiched eye from the factory. I can't complain too much because the snagging stitched eye gave me an excuse to climb a massive oak in order to retrieve it.
Job prospects don't look too good. There are so many schools spitting out "climbers" here. Emphasis on " "!
Never having been to a convention before, I now know they are designed to separate climbers from their hard earned money. And there are still 2 more days $$$$$
