I read the rules and did not see a percentage fee for sales. If there is a charge for posting/selling Mods please delete.

I have a 2004(IIRC) Cooks AC-36 Portable Bandsaw Mill for sale. It will handle 21' logs 36" in diameter. It is all hydraulic and I recently replaced ALL of the hydraulic hoses. I replaced about 30% a couple of years ago and just replaced the remainder at a cost of over $4K just for the hoses. It has the 27HP Kohler engine. Mill is in good working order and selling for health reasons. A new mill is 50K and a 2 year waiting list. Asking $35000 obo. Serious inquiries only please. I bought this 4 years ago. We were going to buy 55 acres in Al, near my wife's mother and step-dad. I also bought a New Holland TN65D tractor with a grapple. It had been sitting in a cow pasture un-used for years. The property was 35acres of hardwood, 15 acres of planted pin about 30' tall, and 5 acres cleared. It was bordered on 2 sides by creeks, had an artesian spring fed pond that was stocked with bass, bluegill, catfish and speckled perch. It also had deer, hogs, turkeys, and small game. It had a 200 amp service, 4 hookups for travel trailers with septics, 4" well, and 2 combination carport/sheds.

The seller was asking $240,000, and I thought it was worth every penny. I had been looking at tractors for months, and also had been researching sawmills. The plan was to build a log cabin, and large workshop for my lathe, milling machines, and other equipment. I had talked with Cooks Saw about buying a new HD-28 (IIRC anyway it was a smaller saw only capable of cutting 28" logs) They were $30,000 and almost a years waiting time. A friend of my In-laws heard that I was looking for a Cooks Saw. He had an AC-36, but it wasn't for sale. However, his brother had one and wasn't using it. I bought it, saw a good deal on the tractor a couple of days later and bought it. We had already applied for a loan for the property and thought everything was a slam-dunk. Over a month later we finally got the appraisal on the property for $125,000. I had 2 more lenders look at the property and the highest came in at $140,000. I couldn't justify $100,000 over market value for the property. I brought the saw and tractor to my cousins and have cut a little bit of lumber learning to use the saw. He built a shed, I built a small shed, and decked a couple of trailers. I have health issues and all of our family is here in central Fl. Her mom and step-dad moved to Al years ago, but we have no other family there. It doesn't make sense now to move to Al as we are getting older also.

The saw does not have an hour meter, but I'm sure it's low hours. All of the hoses have been replaced due to being in the sun for years they had deteriorated. Saw is in good shape and cuts/operates as it should.

Just wanted to give a little background on the saw. Thanks for looking.

$35,000? Wow...

Reduced to $30,000. Mid November I will be hauling it back to Cooks and they will list it on their web page. They will add 15% back for their handling fee. Thanks for looking.
