....I know that could go the wrong way, but it is truly innocent.

I've had customers show me collections of handmade arrow heads and stone knives and all sorts of stuff I would never have thought I would have seen in my lifetime.

I finally had my camera with me on this one. I've read that Ford only made 318 soft-top and they only made the GT500-KR in 1968. Less than 1500 total made.

Never thought I would ever see one up close.

Here's one along the same lines but not near as cool:

Is that a replicar or the real deal? EDIT: I would love to have a replicar with an FE block Ford in it... Narrowed 9" and a C6... Dual double pumpers and Nitrous is nice!!

That Mustang is amazing. Was it a original #'s matching car?

I had a 68 Mustang fastback 289ci in highschool.

So that's what...

About $100,000 grand worth of care? Or double that?

Nice color. Smart design, with the bar and all.

He wouldn't say.... I am guessing around $300K.

Yea I fell in love with this model when I read about them 20 years ago, never thought I would see one. My partner kept trying to tell me what it was acouple of days before the job but he doesn't get into the musclecars. Then he mentioned how many where made and my jaw dropped!!! I knew exactly what he was talking about.

Love to see if anyone has the Hertz Rent-a-Car GT500KR!!! They only made ONE!

I believe the numbers match, 43,000 miles on it when his BIL bought it to restore.

He has had it for a couple of months and put just over 300 miles on it.

The underside is just as clean as the top.

Nice pics Fred. You should have traded him the work for the car. :)

Adam

The way he kept adding work to the original job, I thought he might get there before I left!!! LOL...

Turned a half day job into a two day job.... and then the neighbors started coming over!! Thought we were never getting out of there!

nice ride for sure.

the only way your big ass is fitting in that thing is with the top down!

lol

thanks for the pic.

Replica. But done VERY nice. He said he spent about 500 hours on it.

6' 5" .... As far as weight, lets just say if I want something to move... It usually moves. LOL

What's the story on the pic you posted?

I'm right behind you then. I'm 6'4" and 260 lbs.

I used to sell cars and had a customer telling me about his car that he built. He promised to bring it by one day. I didn't really ever expect to see him again but sure enuf, he came back by.

Yah, 260 would be my "fightin' weight" I am more at my "fluffy" weight right now... You know, winter coming soon and all!

That's the kind of car that would just get me in trouble... The V10 in my truck tries hard enough!! Knock on wood!

I was actually pushing 270 and that is my limit. I can't weigh 270. I just can't. I started doing some Atkins diet and am down about 5 lbs in the last 6 days.

I hear ya on the power. My Durango has the 5.9L with a rebuilt tranny. Tranny has shift kit that barks the tires into 2nd every time. That along with the flowmaster and 4.56:1 gears I just had put in make it quite fun without the stump grinder behind it.
