This was the project I had to do this morning ... getting this tree from andover ma to boston ma... 6000# spruce tree slapped it on a lowbed and went down 93 south.. THANKS OTG

we popped it off some side road off of 133.... had the crane tip tie it and and excavator butt tie it to load it on the lowboy.. then brought it down to copley.. 93 to mass ave to boylston 2 state trooper escorts with the convoy:greenchainsaw:

Do you have any pics of setting it up in the square? I wonder how they brace a tree that size to keep it upright.

Did you guys set it up too? We just did the one for Macy's. All we had to do was get it on the lowbed and they had someone else puting it up.

Worcester bought an aluminum tree this year.
$30,000 for the tree...one of the posters in the newspaper forum pointed out the "private donations" appeared after a city councilor asked what the down payment showing up in the parks department monthly report was for.
DPW / Parks Commissioner said the living tree took $25,000 between cutting, transporting, and nine forestry workers for two weeks to setup. Which was "unbudgeted" (did they not expect Christmas, errr, "Festival of Lights" to happen each year?)
The new one only costs $12,000 for three laborers for three days to setup.

yes ill have more pics in the square.. we had to cable it to 3 existing trees and it sits in a 5 foot deep manhole covered pipe that we shave the butt log to fit

Phil (norther)has bought valley tree off pat gates a bout 10 yrs back. Thats how they got in the area

Northern, Valley and Ralston are the same owner.. but thats not why we were out in Andover lol Today I had to work in Newton then over to Templeton and parked the truck in Palmer. We got the state on lockdown lol
