Correct fuel mix??

Cleaning out my deceased father in laws barn, I came across a beat up dirty old McCulloch Promac 430VC. First I did the round of the local chainsaw shops but noone wanted to touch it. Finally, before tossing it into the garbage, I emptied out the tank and poured in a little 36:1 fuel mix I have made up for my weed whacker. Imagine my surprize when the little puppy barked on the third pull - my father in law was not known for his attention to preventative maintenance.
So - now I need to know what to feed this little beast - is 36:1 the correct mix?

36:1- 40:1 will work fine.



It boggles my mind when dealers wont touch an engine just to see if it will run.
