i am looking to upgrade my chipper truck, and would like to know what i would expect to pay for a new chip box from a company like southco or arbortech. the box would be in the 14 foot range with L and cross tool boxes, standard height and removable top. Medium size as it would be going on a 26000 lbs gvw chasis. Does anyone have any ball park figures from experiences? Would be a great help.
Thanks. John

I got an unsolicited email with a build quote on a chip truck last week. The Southco "1472" chip body was approx. $16,300 without tax or delivery. There were a couple options available for it which would have taken it to about 17K. Ouch.

Hey thanks for the response. was the 1472 you were quoted the straight box or the one with removable tops. Did that include all the tool boxes?
I am going to get a quote for the MP1472, which may be a bit lighter but still will be right up there in price im sure.
what do you think about arbor techs UTV body, same concept seems like its one unit as opposed to having removable tops and sides. Will be interesting when the quotes come in. if anyone knows of a mom and pop manufacture on the east coast with competitive pricing please let me know. Also some feedback on some of the options that are a must, and ones which are a waste of money. We pretty much do pruning, shaping, cable/brace, airspading, limited planting and mulching, and a whole lot of spraying, medium removals, we dont get involved in giant removals, but one of those rear mounted log lifters by sthaul i think would be nice, but $$. Any response is much appreciated.
thanks,
John
