I think it's been a year since I had the mill on a saw. The snow plow pushed my uneven stands, for putting the log on a slope, into a pile two years ago. Been too lazy to build new ones. If I have anything big I just put them on the hill in my back yard. Today, I promised my wife I would clean up the court in front of the house, before I head up to our mountain property next week. So, if the pics look like it's raining, it is. I got soaked. The log was a biggish Wheeping Cherry, about 12-14" across. I started to pick it up on a slope, but said to heck with it, it's little. Took less than 2 minutes per cut. Milled boards 8/4, don't look too bad.

Nice looking boards. I like Cherry.
2" is a good thickness and what I will do with my Red Oak logs.
Did you use the top guide board for every cut and what's the advantage from just laying the mill across the fresh cut surface?
What chain do you prefer and how do you hold your guide/jig to the log?
Just starting out milling so I'd like to get other's opinions.
Any and all info is appreciated.
