With the though of saving a tree that no one wants because it makes such a mess . The lady asked if she could spray an apple tree and make it so it would not prouduce any apples. I thought that it was a reasonable question . Does any one have an idea. The trees are in a small grove approx 10 trees and an 8ft circle. They like the shade and even the location just not the mess. thanks dave1

Years ago I use to spray customers apple tress so they would not have any aplles. It was a type of acid I beleive. It is the same thing that apple growrs use to chemical thin they apple crop. You just mixed it stronger, directions were on label. Any pesticide dealer that sells to apple growrs could tel you what to use. I do remember timing was quite important but it sure worked good. It will affect any flowers under the tree. If you can't find any I'll call my pesticide dealer. Good luck

It has been said that when the apples are the size of a pinhead then spray them with liquid sevin, and all the apples will fall off.

I was told this by the cooperative extension Master Gardener
training class.:)
