Ebay is good for certain yhings. I had a h 2 something parts saw that brought $250. On fb it would have struggled at $80. CL is Dean and tough tatty for not updating it for 20 years.

I know this is an older thread but I made an account just to try to get some answers on my recently acquired saw. I have figured out through research it’s a Poulan built saw and is the thin ring version. I recently inheritedt this saw and it’s an 82 model craftsman model number 358.354830. Couldn’t get it to run. Fuel lines were swollen, tore the carb down and it was VERY gunked up. Rebuilt the carb and put new fuel lines and filter on it. Has good spark. Got it all back together and still couldn’t get it to run. Pull cord felt decent. Bought a compression tester and it doesn’t have but about 30lbs of compression. Pulled the muffler and piston is decently scored. I really would like to get this thing running. I’ve seen that the thin ring model is the same as the Poulan 3700. Does anyone know if there’s a place to get parts for these saws. If so do you think a set of rings would get her going or would it need a cylinder too? Thanks for any help!

Have to post cylinder pics. Could run a 3.4 cube countervibe cylinder if needed. 3.4 Piston is chrome plated, cylinder is bare aluminum. Need a wristpin puller to get piston off, no circlips. LRB on ebay used to sell 3.7 pistons and rings. I Don't think the Little Red Barn rings on their pistons are compatible with OEM. Keep an eye out for Marketplace on Facebook.May be cheaper to find another used one.In my area they are abundant and cheap.

Have not gotten around to tearing it down yet. Looks like I may have found some rings though

I can say yeah the fees are high.

But a lot of times the item brings more money, but sometimes not, just like this time. I knew already the Red versions don't seem to bring as much as the Poulan saws.

Thats ok, I have done better more times then not. I offered it here first but got no interest in it and no offers.

The one thing about eBay is I don't have to deal with those Facebook idiots. I have never seen so many ******** in my life as trying to deal on Marketplace.
What is your eBay store?

For anyone seeking info for thin rings for these 3.7 models whether it be the craftsman or the Poulan 3700, I just received word back from that eBay seller of the link I posted for the rings and they confirmed in fact it will fit these models.
