Just wondering out loud here... How come on Craigs list you see "ad's" for remove this tree and keep the wood, must be a professional with insurance. But you never see, Put a new roof on my house and you can keep the old shingles! Oh yea, you must be a professional with insurance. Pete

Didnt you know firewood is worth a fortune, but experienced tree workers will work for nothing and insurance is dirt cheap.

those idiots are nuts, you'll also notice them ads run for weeks then they give up and their brother in law comes over with the craftsman and drops the maple on their garage, which attributes to why insurance is so expensive.

I owe my electrician buddy big time today! Yanked the power off the house on a big multi leader Silver Maple. 42" DBH. Got a mess to clean up tomorrow!

Love messin with the Craigslisters, lot of clueless a$$es on there! At the same time I have met some good people on that site and built good relationships around firewood and treework with them.

they were like that before the economy tanked.

Just a homeowner trying to tighten-up his budget in these tough times.:buttkick:

i actually go and mess with them, after a big to do,i tell them it's not the wood i'm looking for.

things like"sorry,i am looking for red oak, white is not in demand this year".you should see the look on their faces.they actually believe it.

I have a few people with boilers that will pay a small delivery fee, but it barely covers cost.

But that is good oak!

No, look how twisty it is, and the damage at the base, they want long clear logs at the mills; not twisty, knotty stuff that bird feeders were nailed too. Think what those nails would do to a band saw!

but my brotherinlaws girlfreinds uncle got 5 grand for his tree

When was that, and what was it.

A walnut the got rid of in 72

Fish stories, I bet it was $500; which was a lot back then.
