hello all
I am asking about carne work specifically training and what are the min requirements you would have to send a employee of yours up for the first time
I was on a job the other day and was asked by the owner to give advice to the climber for his first time. needless to say I was not happy about this as I am not certified in crane work .he has ben around at lest 15 crane jobs and has ben around 3 different size crane 26 to 80 ton we have mostly used straps not chain and used a d ring as the connection point.
this was the advice I gave not wanting to give to much that he would not remember.
tie in with a point that will take the weight and with as much weight below as to not tip drop. make sure you have an exit point - don't get caught with your back to a spare- make your cut for the meterial to move away from you
knowing he has a high adrenaline I said to in order first breath than think about your work to do look around the work than make your cut
think breath look cut every time
I myself would like to go to the isa crane training any one out there that can till me if it s worth it or not ?
I wont get on a hook for this owner just because I see to many things going in my mind that are un safe from chain saws with duct tape and jb weld on the handle to bolts missing on the motor to handle connection anti vibration rubber is there just no bolt
many times no hard hats of any kind are worn
never any chaps no mater what size saw or bucking is taking place i know many of us don't like to use them but i do if using a saw on the ground of any real size 30 cc and up
