Has any body managed to mate two crankcase halves that did't originally come as 1 unit. I'm particularly interested in doing so for an 070/090 series saw. has anyone been successful. I guess they are pinned then bored for the crank bearings. Thank You Mike.

I would not have a big problem doing that, i have but different cases on 372's together for guys after they split one with a tree landing on it,
you can tell once it is together if something is wrong by rolling the crank over , if it is tight start looking for the reason

If the crank doesnt bind up on you you did it right, but if the crank is tight you did something wrong. I need a left half for my jonsered 670 champ. the metal av mount on the rear left side is broken off and I lost the loose piece of metal in the woods somewhere, so I need a new left half for mine to fix the issue. I havent tried to take it apart beyond removing the top end from the crankcase to free the ring up.

Thanks Guys! The reason i'm asking is, I went to pay a visit to John Lambert (Gypo) and picked up a few project saws and a ton of parts. One of them is a "090 G". This 090 G is a "basket case". The gearside of it is very good condition, but the starter side looks like it was in salt water for a couple of months. If I can't salvage the crankcase, I guess its a parts saw. Either way it will need several parts, and I'll probably need your guidance. Thank You! I'll post some pics when I get a final count on the pieces.

Here's Mike ( Jenson 32000) with a SAAB load of saws. Now Mike has to sneek home and find places to hide the saws so the wifey doesn't catch on, but I am sure she knows him by now.
Here's Mike and I with about 200 saws.

I thought you said you had to go and cut 4 more trees and you are still home , do you know how long it takes you to cut 4 trees , it gets dark here in 7 hours so you better get a move on Gypo

Hi Ed, It's very windy, so I will just scare those trees with my chain and they will jump off the stump and escort themselves to the landing and buck themselves into 10' 6" sticks, then hop on to the truck, cause if the mill ain't got it, he's gettin' it.
Hey Jarod, your 7900 cut a 2.98 in a 14" Poplar and that was with me running it, so imagine the possibilities?
John

Can you think what would happen when you crash that car and all that loss wood in there , if the crash didnot kill you the wood would

When i was at Gypo's i seen the film you did of the FEB. 15 th get together , it was great to watch all the action going on,

Yeah right a couple of blocks, theres couple a blocks in the back of that thing! Just push the car home like a wheelbarrow :) In fact hang on. I'll come by and get a few trucks to haul that wood with.
