Critiques of Mitsubishi Fuso

Im thinking about buying a Mitsubishi Fuso and want the ins and outs of the truck. I was also considering Isuzu but a decent deal came up with the Fuso - 13,000 for a truck (without chip box/tool box etc) with 115,000 - six cylinder diesel. Will have more info in a day or so about the specs of the model and motor. Any comments about the truck, price, its reliability, mechanical issues, and comparison to the other cabover models out there would be much appreciated.

Dads first new truck was a 72 Chevy C30 12' stakebody and then his next 2 new trucks were 78 Fords, an F600 and an F250. We used to expect 20 years of service from a comercial vehicle back then, and all 3 of those trucks gave us that. I don't think the Fuso or Isuzu will give that kind of longevity, I may be wrong. I'd like to hear what someone that's had one has to say. Good luck, Joe.

From the research I've done, by the time you put a dump box on them they do not have much left (weight carrying wise) before you exceed the max, weight for the truck. Transport Cops in my area know this and stop them all the time.

A mechanic friend advised me to stay away from the Isuzu (engines don't last too long before requiring a rebuild) He said I'd be better off with a Hino. Can't speak of the Mits other than the weight capacity. Mitsubishi is the only one that makes a 4x4 cabover.

Cabovers have a rougher ride than a conventional truck, but their turning radius is good.

Fusos are great trucks!

I would get the six cyclinder if it was me but my buddy has the 4 banger and it's impressive.damn reliable too.if there is a fault with something,he'll find it fast.

if i were buying a new commercial truck,it would be a Hino or Fuso.

93 mitso

i have a 93 f h 100 mitso 17,000 gvw. this truck is very good truck.i have 260k on ,it is going strong.i have pushed it very hard for 10 years. very minor maint stuff. kenny
