Ohh possum is a vile creature for sure. When you told us it sank its claws into you, well, I advise some kind of shot.
Its amazing to see them in action. Of course we all know they play dead and really look dead when they do.

we have a possum from australia here in new zealand, they destoy large volumes of our native bush. The damn things always run up the tree and they never play dead, and their brave enough to take on very big dogs.

ive had 2 run over me on there way up and ive sent many flying when i was doing selective native logging. its amazing they will fly 25-30 metres and some how survive and run away.

One thing that I sure as hell can't stand is the damn spiders, mosquitoes, and all the other insects you find when you are removing trees or pruning limbs. It drives me crazy.

I was told the brown recluse wasn't in Main, so I was trimming away and sure as #### I started the removal and down came a brown recluse. I had to come down calm myself and then I was back up removing that limb.

I was removing a large vary old, dead pondarosa pine. It was over 70in. dbh and the top had broke out a long time ago and it had 4 branches that became leaders. It was in lake Silverwood and had picnic tables under it. The park was removing it because of the possible hazard. Before removal, a Phd of something from one of the universitys inspects the tree to make sure its not a habitat tree. As I'm dropping one of those massive branches some squirrels start coming out of a hollow on the branch I'm cutting. A park ranger is screaming at me to stop. I figure he's a squirrel lover and keep cutting. All of a sudden these squirrels glide off to some brush. Come to find out that tree housed a bunch of endangered so. calif. flying squirrel, thought to no longer live anywhere in this park. Sence they only live in old dead hollow trees( or so I was told) This pretty much sealed their fate. The University lost its contract, and I singled handed cause a species to be "really", endangered. Cute little guy they were.
