These new crossbows are surprisingly accurate. However, as I was discussing this last week, a guy told be that a good crossbow shooter could hit ordinary aspirin tablets thrown in the air, one at a time, one right after the other. He even said that the guy shooting the crossbow could do it all by himself -- throw the aspirin tablet, shoot the cross bow, and hit the tablet. Piece of cake.

After hearing all that, I changed the subject. WDYT?

Hmm well this one is from the 70s or so. My new one is real accurate at 30 to 40 yards. If I was good at it then it might be good at 50 or so. An asprin tablet? Wow. I know there are guys out there real good with a bow or cross bow but that takes some skill. I like guns better but with our climate around here crossbow season is the best season to hunt. Meaning sitting in the woods when it's 50 degrees not shivering holding my 870 in the snow.

As long as this thing hits a crotch in a tree I'll be happy. Doesn't need to happen on the first try. Lol

I wrote his story off as B.S. in spades. Some men are full of that substance. Anyway, I am still amazed at how well the new crossbows work and how accurate they are. Good thread. I've seen some tree trimmers spend half an hour trying to throw a line over a branch or fork only 30 feet up.
