The increase in cutting speed is probably due to a better chain.

That's a lot of engine work for 5.5% more rpm. Couldn't he have just adjusted the limit screw? :)

5x the engine life? I doubt it.

A nice saw to pose with, too slow to race, too abnormal to try and earn a living with.

People will bid on anything on ebay!

"Trust me your gonna love it. This saw is worth much much more than the reserve that I have set."

Yah, right! Want to bet the shot peening and cryo never happened. The cryo has very little effect on any but some specialty alloys and even then not really very remarkable.

Cryo-Processed

Well here we go again. First off is that I have had many of my cutlery processed by the Cryogenic treatment. If some of you would go to the sites that do this process you would be surprised by the feed back. Are any of you aware that Scharade knives have this process on certain products? Ditto for Buck knives.
Now we have no proof that this individual has had the treatment or not. A reciete would verify this.
Many motor sports are using this process for everything from brake rotors all the way to complete engine assemblies. Aluminum golf clubs have responded well to this as well as base ball bats. Serious shooting experts will swear that the shot placement is more accurate from this process.
In laymans terms, it is basically a Steroid treatment for metals.
I did a lot of research on this topic in collage.( Got a B+) on the paper.

I guess I shouldn't talk too badly about e-bayr's...... I did run an old alum. emco tackle box up to $160 before I lost it!

Might seem a little off topic, but I am an amateur musician (trombone)(Jimmy Pankow anyone?) that's done a lot of research on brass instruments. The "cryo" thing has been debated for some time, any scientific studies have not been able to prove any improvement in instruments, although some owners swear by it. Different strokes......... They claim the molecules become "better aligned", artificially aging the instrument.

cryo treatment

Spacemule,
I am aware that you are well educated in the vocabulary field however, you cannot dispute scientific data. NASA has been using this process. Same for the US ARMY. Many parts of the M1 tank like tracks that are subjected to extreme wear have had this process.
You appear to have the blinders on and not keeping an open mind.Sort of like a horse that cannot see the side of the road.
If you have the time,do a little research. You may even change your mind. This is the 21st century. Many old fallacies have been put to rest. Synthetic oil used to be thought of as " Snake Oil" However, many people maybe even you use this in your equipment. Take care, Ken

looking at the picture of the exhaust port, it looks like not much if ANYTHING has been done! i am unimpressed..

I have nothing against cyro....

Spent some time as a mold builder when cyro was first comming out, used it on certain steels insted of heat treating, or both heat treating then cyro. I have no doubts about it's usefullness or efectivness, it's wicked on titaniaum. But... I very seriously doubt that someone would take the time to machine an oversize piston and undersize jug treat it and then re-machine everything again, so it will fit properly, cyro, as with heat treating, will change the dimensions and shape of you're parts. For each and every one of those chainsaws.
My .02,
Andy

I wish we could here form the saw owner. Obviously he would need some experience of what he is comparing too. Never know - but, more than likley it probably nothing more than a new saw with a red cylinder.
