On the reassemble: Clutch side and chain oiler

The chain oiler and clutch setup is not what Im used to, it has a common oiler worm gear and the arm. I thought the clutch drum would have a notch , but this saw doesn't. how does it pump oil.

Could someone please validate if its correct ?

It has an adjustable oil pump, and a 1121 worm gear. No notch in the clutch drum.

clutch drum 1121/00

Ah, it does have a notch by the look of he IPL. I'll investigate getting the correct drum. This is the way it it came to me, Been sitting around for years. Thanks Singin......
Got to watch the China junk. Got one for a guy to save him a little money, but the bearing was too long to get the clip on. Went with a oem

I'm quite sure that's right -- if you have an adjustable pump the drum will be wider and have the notch. My "early" 024 has a fixed pump and no notch. The Oregon p/n 100791X replacements have the notch.

If, in fact, you need the narrow notchless drum and have access to a lathe, the fix is easy.

I did think of that Toby, but I think the the ones with a notch could have more depth in the drum, to engage worm gear arm. I did put the clutch side together hand tight , and then fitted the drum to examine.

The drum depth wasn't enough to enable it to slot in. It didn't even rub the arm. I had an Oregon and genuine drum to test and both were not able to touch the arm. Arm and worm gear look ok, Arm not bent.

That said, i dont know exactly how the no-name aftermarket one will fit. The part number coincides with the later clutch shoe assy, i don't know if the old and new clutch shoes sit the same as old? The new drum I hope fits the bill. depends if I've read the IPL correctly as well, but it doesn't differentiate the clutch shoe assy size or dimensions of old and later offering.

So if both clutches are the same dimensionally, this new drum should work. bit of rant sorry. R Stihlskin.
