One of the best things you can do is run good ethanol-free gas and quality oil mix. These saws will give you many years of trouble-free service. Parts can be gotten anywhere and many guys in these forums can be of great help. My oldest saw is probably 12 yrs. old. The only maintenance I've had to do is cleaning, sharpening and replace a plastic clutch cover. About $30 in parts.Forgot to mention:
- Based on what I learned on this forum, I think the Echos and Dolmars will be superior to the Huskies and Stihls in the same price range (~$300)
- While the Dolmar dealer will no longer carry their products, there is a local small engine repair shop with a good reputation. May be able to service the saw in a pinch.
