Hello all, My chipper will not start. It ran perfect last time I used it. I don't think its getting any gas. I took the fuel line that goes to the fuel filter and blew into the gas and it was not blocked. Does any one know where the fuel pump is to check? Thanks

should be a lift pump on the side of the block. make sure your fuel shut-off is working properly.

Ha! I hope it's not getting any gas if it's a Cummins! j/k Seriously, 3.9BT 4 cylinder bulletproof engine. Check to see if the fuel shut off solenoid is working when you turn the key on. Not sure if yours is electronic or mechanical. Either way make sure the rod moves and the plunger does as well. Then check the lift pump. The lift pump is on the side of the block; looks like a miniature chevy fuel pump. Should have a small metal lever you push down to pump fuel manually. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe these run off the cam. You can crack the bleeder screw and pump the lever to see if fuel is making it through the pump. Should be a steady flow of diesel with no air each time the lever is depressed. That's the easy stuff I know of. Maybe check the fuel pickup tube in the tank as well to be sure it hasn't broken off. Look at these items then give us an update.

Hello, I got it running. I't is the b3.3 engine. I found a pump on top of the fuel filter. I didn't see another pump so I pumped it up till I got it full of pressure and it fired right up. I remembered that I had the chipper on a steep incline for a couple of hours and it must have made a dry pocket in the filter. Thanks guys it saved me a two hour trip to get it fixed and the money to boot. This site rocks. Barry
