Just wondering what the current prices are for log loads in different parts of the country. For an average size truck - maybe 16 tons net weight -green wood. I know the fuel costs have skyrocketed but here in the mid NY state area near lake Ontario it seems like the price has jumped quite a bit in just one year.

This is a quote from our local paper (Mid-Michigan)"6 full cords $750, 8 full cords $950 10 full cords $1150"
Can't understand how he can do it that cheap (with delivery). If I didn't have all the wood I can cut I'd sure take this guy up on it.

We will sell them green in log lengths for $100.00 a cord delivered. At our convience.

You guys must be able to handle stuff a little better than me. Just seems very reasonable (no cheap) to me. Guess if you can make money that's all that counts

We get paid to remove the trees, We then load the good firewood in the log truck, (about 3 cords) Then we stop at the homeowner's house, in need of firewood in log lengths, and then dump truck. We then collect 3 extra beans all on our way back to the shop!! Win win for everyone. It does not always work out that well but worse case scenario we bring the logs back to the shop and continue stock pileing for a future use.

I recently bought a triaxle of hard maple logs for 500. That is in wayne Co NYand he didnt have to drive far to deliver them.

I ended up with about 9 full cord Took me 18 hour to cut and stack. No splitting use an outdoor furnace. Going to buy another here pretty soon.

Haven't cut cut, split or stacked it all yet but looks like I got somewhere in the neighborhood of 7 cords for $600 - $85 a cord. I'm in Upstate NY - outside of Albany.

Ive found that usually a Triaxle is between 7-9 cord. Believe it or not my 7 mo preg wife helped me stack some I think I ended up paying 30 dollar a face but Im no mathametician Or a great spellar.

This is my first winter in my new farm house. So I want at least 16 full cord. Big house.Dont want to run out Plus I plan on hooking up my hot water supply to my furnace and burn year round. My father Likes green wood in his for his hot water says it shuts down better. Sorry to get off topic.

triaxle log loads

when you say you get 7-9 cords out of a load -how does that equate to 16 inch "FaceCords"? 21 to 27?? That must be a much bigger truck than what runs around here. Most I have found run about 16 tons -which average about 16 -18 "face cords" which would only be 5-6 full cords.

We are paying 110 per cord semi log length usually about 12-13 on a truck for pine. We cut, split and deliver for 190 per cord again for pine.

NW Oregon. $800 this year. That gets ya a load of 40 footers. No weights on the load ticket, delivery on sundays only cause the scales are closed. Any way you want, all hard around here that would be oak. Or soft alder, maple, or fir. Or mix it up any way you like it. If you are one of his chosen few that have been with him for years the price is frozen at $600 and we buy a min of 2 loads a year.

The loads depending on what you get, all hards average about 8+ cord. All soft average abt 12+ cord. Like I said delivery on Sunday only.
