After running the machine the cutting wheel was stuck on. I finally got it to disengage and loaded it up and brought it home. Tried to start again and the cutting wheel came on immediately. I disconnected the actuator and put 12 volts to the connector and it worked. I switched the positive and negative and it reversed direction as it should. The connections from the actuator control seem to put out 12 volts and it switches when I flip the switch. Maybe the ground is not switching over. Has anyone else had these problems and does anyone know where to find information on parts or schematics on the machine.

Mine did the same thing. I bought it new. The actuator has a factory defect. You need to replace it. Should cost you around $600 Vermeer screw you dollars.

BTW Good luck on getting any schematics or even any info from Vermeer. As me how I know. They want you to bring the machine in to their shop for service. Not advisable.
