The above pic is of an old timer I delivered a 12 cord load to. Cherry, beech and maple. That's not my crooked cut on the log end. Lol

I like extreme (for here) cold weather hibernating as well. Get the chores done and enjoy sitting by the smogger. I have no huge desire to go out cutting and dragging in wood when it is frozen over mud slop.

That is an awesome picture of Rhubarb but I am going to challenge that being a new picture. I usually just cut mine to length with a knife. Even a bow saw is overkill.

I agree on the woodcutting zen thing. My "real job" doesn't give me physical tasks like this. I started cutting and splitting for myself because I was cheap, and I kept doing it because I really enjoy the work. If my dad were still alive he'd be either nodding his head or more likely laughing.
