Greetings,

Looking at an older big-inch Husky and am wondering how the cylinder is set-up?

I have rebuilt several snowmachines and am familiar with liners and Nicasil. I was thinking of freshening up the top-end or is it worth it? Should I just spend the coin on a newer saw. This one's 15 years old.

Thanks.

It's a 394 made in 1992 according to the serial number. It looks like it's been around...a few times, but the seller is adamant it runs without any issues and cuts like a monster. I take that to mean it pulls well under a load.

I call it the "fixit gene." We have many acute/chronic sufferers here.... the good news? It's not fatal. The bad news? You'll be plagued by obsessive compulsive behaviors. Support groups meet nightly.

Parts are still available and they are powerful saws. Its worth every penny. A new 395 (the 394's replacement) will cost you around $900 to $1000. You can still buy a piston/cyl kit for around $200.
