I have an old Aliis Chalmers 75-A (Orange color) in my garage. It was my Dad's and never got used much. I rebuilt the carburetor a couple of weeks ago, replaced the tank fuel filter and fuel lines. I used it yesterday and it really performed well until it just quit. Saw has a really nice balance. Found out the flywheel on the engine cut into the new fuel line. :-( There is a hole to feed the fuel line from the carburetor to the area of the flywheel. I didn't remove the flywheel to see how to route the line. Anyway, ordered more line. I don't see what keeps the fuel line out of the way of the flywheel? Maybe I routed it incorrectly since the old fuel line was basically crumbled? Not sure how old the saw is either? I really don't need the old Allis but at least wanted to get it running. I'm currently using a Solo 635 for small jobs around the yard. I wish I could get a little matching orange paint for her.

Your saw is from about 1973 and is actually the same as a Poulan 25DA. You for sure didn't route the fuel line correctly if it was rubbing the flywheel. There is a hole/loop in the top case behind the flywheel that the fuel line has to be routed through. AC orange paint is very easy to find.

Your saw is actually a collectors item now days..

There is an ad on Craigslist in the Atlanta area where a guy has a bunch of old saws for sale, including one listed as an Allis-Chalmers 75. I don't know how to post the link here, or include the ad, from my phone. I don't have anything to do with it.

Cool. Maybe I'll get it running good again and try selling it. I also have an orange plastic case for it, an OEM replacement starter rope, and a spare chain. Maybe I need to pull off the flywheel, if I can without breaking it.

That saw has the single loop so you really don't have to pull the flywheel and can just angle cut the line and fish it through. I suggest 3/32 ID x 3/16 OD fuel line. On the other hand if you pull the flywheel you can clean and re-gap the points while your at it.

If the same one it is $75 as it was posted on my site.

Hi Folks, thanks for all the replies and advice. Sadly, during 8/2020, we were having a new Roof installed on our Home. I was walking across the grass coming home from work. There was a 30' dumpster in the Driveway so I parked on the street. Safe to walk across the grass - well not with these careless workers. Someone on the second story threw a 2 x 6 x 8' piece of lumber into our yard, instead of the Dumpster, and it hit me pretty vertically in the chest/heart. I did not see it coming. The impact burst fractured L2 in my Back, blew disk L4/L5 and T8/T9, collapsed my left lung, and bruise my Heart. I've recovered but am in pain 24 hours a day, some days severe. It wear me out. Ever since the injury, I'm not able to do much work outside. I have a Desk job doing Computer Technical Support. So the Yard equipment sits and rots. The compensation for my injury that was life-changing was an insult. Had to sell my Mountain Bikes, Motorcycles, ATV's. Love you Guys and Gals. Not asking for pity, just letting you know why I disappeared.

Holy ****! That’s really unfortunate! I am sorry you have had to go through this.

Geez that's horrible....I can't believe there wasn't a substantial settlement with the roofing company's insurance. Getting badly hurt and still having to sell your things to get by is just wrong.
