what is a good price per hour to climb and trim trees .the trees im looking at are 50 to70 foot tall oak gum trees.thanks

To have a crew of two men come to your house and trim your trees will cost roughly $150 per hour, less rural areas, more near the big cities.
A typical tree can be pruned out and the mess cleaned up in about an hour, less for a small tree, more for a large wide tree.

If you are asking how much the climber gets paid, typically they make $40,000 to $80,000 a year, so you can do the math.

If you don't know the ans to your ques, you must not have much experience doing tree care. Are you an experienced tree climber? Are you asking because you feel you are being gouged by a tree service? If its the latter, get several bids from reputable tree ser and compare.

Thnx for the replies. Just to let you know, I am not a certified arborist but I worked for one for several years but it's been awhile and I was just curious to know what the going rate was for a couple of reasons. One is that a customer has asked me to do some tree work and I didn't want to lowball any of the other bids. The other reason is that I have a very reputable national tree company doing some work for me and I wanted to compare their rates as well. I do own my own landscape contractor business and I climb on occasion. Thanks again.

If it is just you, your cost for the work + the wage you pay yourself * 3 or 4 for a good proffit.

After a while you will be able to figure what you can charge per hour.

There should be a differeance what a company that climbs full time charges and what an occasional climber charges, just because the fulltimers are usually more efficient.

Thanks for the input ,i worked for a nonprofit place ,but had a good boss who was very sharp and taught me modern aboriclture. love to climb and always trying save trees.
