I get a number of saplings in my yard every year and I hate to watch them die off in the fall (I live in the Philadelphia suburbs). Mostly swamp Maple (not sure of the proper name...very branchy and a little soft as maple goes), pinned oak, Ash, and I think some Japanese Maple.
Would these saplings survive the winter or even hold their leaves if I potted them and brought them inside? Along the same lines, what would the best potting soil be to get them into next year…inside or out.
Thanks in advance
