Pull out wood from both ends of the tractor is how it's done, right?

The log on the front is the most the FEL will pick up. I was only able to pick it up by over biting it with the grapple and curling back. I picked it up after I had the two logs on the back - which made the front end a bit light. It was evened out pretty good. I think I got maybe a tad under 2/3 cord (???) on this trip down to the landing. I had the throttle set for 2500 rpms no load and it still had a hard time going up some of the hills - nearly stalled a few times. The 3pt is a bit weak too for getting the butts of the logs off the ground. Takes a little rocking to get it to lift enough.

I think a 5045E is in my future... Hmmmm - Nah, she'll kill me for sure. I got a decent tongue lashing for the FX65 / LX5100 purchase.

Wallenstein makes GREAT skidding winches, I have the bigger brother to yours, an FX90,

I knew I was going to be using a tractor for logging and other heavy work, that's why I bought a FARM tractor instead of a compact. They just plain last longer doing more work easier.

Compacts are great if you don't need the extra toughness of a farm tractor, I have a smaller compact too.

That's a great looking root rake and grabble...

My grabble slides on my pallet forks, it's been GREAT and really makes it easy to load logs, right where I want them!

You have a nice setup, glad it's working out for you!

Thanks for posting the pics. I have a JD 3320 and could really use one of those. Did it come from dealer or is it aftermarket ? Also wondering if there are any issues with hoses/fittings breaking etc. It looks like you have run the hoses from the back remotes under the machine and tied to the loader. Is this the case or do you have plugins somewhere else?

I got it from my dealer. It's the Frontier AV20H:

No issues with any hoses or fittings. I did run them from the rear remotes.

I saw your black blade sitting behind the barn a couple days ago. I tried to load it onto my chevy sonic roof rack but the poor little guy couldn't handle it! Looks like you have your work cut out for you there. Are you doing the other side of the road too that was logged?

No, not the other side. I guess the land is leased to another farmer and he doesn't want anyone driving on the field. I would think I could drive around it, but that's fine. I have enough wood where I'm at now to last me until summer at least.

Nice setup. I wish I had a little more tractor for my winch, but I will have to make do with what I have for a while. 30 horse seems like the minimum for any sort of skidding.

I pulled around 30 cord this winter with my little 34hp kubota, never once had a problem lifting the butt ends off the ground with 3-4, 12-18 maple logs, you might want to have your pressures on the 3 pt hitch checked, that don't seem right. I would also advise against carrying such large loads with the FEL, it's really hard on a front end that really isn't designed for that kind of weight for any length of time, use the brakes a little of you need help steering.

I'll have to look into what it takes to check the pressure. Unfortunately, the 3032e doesn't have independent brakes. One pedal.

Also wanted to add that I think the lift rating at 24" is only about 1300 lbs. The winch weighs about 450 lbs I think.

Just take your time and don't over work it, they are strong enough to tear themselves apart.

That is a pretty light 3pt rating. My 28 hp Mahindra is rated at 2200lbs and is a much smaller frame machine. That surprises me. I agree with mesupra though about the front end. If you are going to carry max weight up front, go very slow and be calculated with your maneuvering. Front end parts are expensive. This is from someone who F'd up someone elses front end of a borrowed tractor one time. I replaced the parts but still feel horrible about it to this day.

Done! Signed the PO for one yesterday! It will be about 3 weeks before I take delivery.

This is what I ordered:

- H240 Loader (500 Series Carrier)
- Telescopic End Links
- 14.9-28 Rear Tires, 9.5-24 Front Tires
- Creeper Gear Kit
- 3pt Heavy Hitch Trailer Mover For Gooseneck (2-5/16")
