Well it worked so well for Sequim, who here is going to Deming this year? June 10-11
RBtree, if you are going I will get you in the pits with the Predator crew.

Rotax

i would sure love to go, but im not sure if i could get there. the only race saw i still have is my piped woods port 070, i sold the 044 and kept my piston/cyl off it. i doubt i could get a husky 181 built in time.

What classes. How is the competition there?

Ben you shouldn't cannabalize a saw you are proud of.

Fred

Lakeside, you wanna go? Thanks, Robert, I'll do my best to be there.

I believe the Deming show normally restricts participation to local loggers, except for a few celebrity invites like Rotax.

Might just do that. I have the weekend off (wife's out of town) so ...

Deming is up off the Mount Baker Highway (Hwy 542). However don't go all the way to the town of Deming. The log show grounds are just before the Nooksack river on the left. I'll be there as well. Been there for the last 6 years cheerin' on the Buckley guys.

There are links to directions on the bottom of the home page. See you there!

Fred: the MS440 crank case i had planned for the sequim race saw was unusable. clutch side bearing was spun in the case and the flywheel side was spun on the crank. was going to put new bearings in but on the clutch side i was checking how the new bearing fit.. dropped right out the other side! :)

the case i ended up using was on loan from a good friend (from a saw i rebuilt for him) i still have my piston/cyl and have done a bit more work on it allready.

Good Times.

Been there. Well not there, but sometimes it seems God hates racing chainsaws.

I just read the article in Loggers World about the show, sounds like fun.Bob in Sequim did they call you the 'Bull Of The Woods'?

Here are the times for Deming. I am pretty sure these times are close as I can't find the paper I wrote them down on.

Binford 1.61 V8
Foreplay 1.72 V8

6 cube/under 24" cottonwood dead start

i see that spansky saw came out and kicked some arse. i was hoping to see that saw at sequim.

I normally am the first one to cry BS if someone says displacement plays a part, but that extra stroke on the 066/064 seems to work so much better than the 046/044 stroke.

i.e. knife to a gun fight

Fred

Second place is very respectable.
