No I am paying the electric or oil company for heat either.
I open the furnace up wide and burn green first but I have plenty on hand.

16 below the other morning.
Boy even the stringy Elm splits good with the husky splitting axe.

About every thing else unless real knotty splits just about by shaking rthe splitting ax at it.

Temps been down in low teens for a week, warmed up a few days ago but my 'to be split' ricks of rounds were waiting. Split for an hour this morning (just below freezing). 2-3 shots with the Fiskars to halve a round then not more than 6 (per half)shots to have 5 splits on the ground. Finally had to quit splitting a bunch then piling and go to split/pile/split/pile. The splitting wasd going so fast I was running out of breath. Many of the last splits to make 2 splits out of a bigger one took no more than light 'chop' with just one hand choked up on the Fiskars. Only had to resort to the wedge/sledge a couple times for knots. Fun!
