Hi there, I'm not very mechanically minded so wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction as to what might be wrong.

The chipper had been running constantly for a number of hours chipping conifer, it then suddenly struggled and died half way through a small branch. The ignition from then was completely unresponsive, no lights nothing. We then bypassed the starter and it would begin to idle then die again. It has been the same since. I've not had the chipper long, and its my first so it might be something I've not done. Obviously fuel and oil are ok. I haven't greased it yet, the hydraulic oil is about 5/8 full even though 7/8 is reccommended. Could it simply need a new battery??alternater?

how old is the machine and what engine do you have on it? the lombardini engined versions used to have trouble with the ignition boxes, chipbox safety plug and the autofeed and also the regulator on the engine

I don't know much about the 65E but here in the states the 65XL with the Hatz or Deutz diesel are the best in my opinion compared to the gas Honda, Kohler or Wisconsin. I have seen some with the 35HP Briggs and it seems to run good.

On your no start problem does the Europe model have the hood pin switch? Those are designed to take power away from the key switch when working on the knifes or disc. Is there any fuses that may be blown ( different engine have different set ups so engine brand is a need to know).
