Just bought a clutch cover and chain brake assy for a 630 that will fit perfect on my 625. What else is the same...or different?:dizzy:

The main difference was the higher power output of the 630, probably due to different porting and maybe different carbs.
The 630 Super had even more power output than regular 630.

Displacement was 61.5 cc on both 625 and 630.

Do a search for 625+630+670, and a lot of info on these and related saw models will show up. They were part of a BIG family of saws that started with the Husky 162 in 1976. The evolution ended with the Jred 670 Champ and Husky 272xp, which were discontinued in the late 1990ies.

The Husky 61 and (non-xp) 268 are still sold as current models in parts of the wourld.

The only difference between a 625 and 630 are closed ports and a different piston. But they fit as on 625.Same thing for the 670 that got a bigger cyl and piston,a rubber intake instead of fiber(625),but it will still fit on your 625.The same apply for Husqui 162,266,268 and 272,all parts are bolt-on on your 625.

SawTroll and HiOctane, Thanks for the excellent replies. The real reason I asked is that I thought this 625 (bought last summer at pawn shop) had been somehow modded (muffler mod I know). It has the hallmarks of a saw used alot but very well maintained. It just seems to have more "snort" than a stock 61cc saw, unexpected torque and acceleration.:)

woodfarmer, Looked at your saw last week, both looked good. Just needed one part though...and just bought a Stihl 025 on eBay the week before that so my chainsaw budget is tapped out.

Thanks again...the info is free and worth every cent.;)
