I posted a couple photos of this 1100 a few months ago before I had a chance to clean it up. I thought it just needed a coil, but on further inspection I noticed the piston is lightly scored and the cylinder looks a little marked too. It still has 130 pounds compression and is a task to pull over. The ole girl appears to be of all original components and doesn't seem to have been abused much either. I never could find a coil for it and thought about converting it over to the 2100 set up but never really had alot of luck finding those parts either. It sits on the shelve, looking all dejected.

I am headed to the saw shop that was able to find obsolete parts for my Stihl 090 last week, he really digs in when you give him a challange.

Thats a pretty good looking 1100, I wish mine would have looked that good, it looked horrible.

In fact I just come in from painting mine. Screwed the cover up though and will have to redo it. Was holding it with a wire while painting it and it slipped and swung right into the spray gun :censored:

I finally got the parts to finish it that were ordered in November! I wish I could find the decals for it though at least the recoil one if nothing esle.

I may have to beg you to take a photo of yours to send to me and maybe I can get one made off of it.

Or maybe I just take it out and run the stuffings out of it!

I really didnt want to paint it but it was just too bad to look at.

Hope you can find what your need for yours.

Does yours have the Femsa flywheel and ignition?

I'll head down a look. It is red, see through and is the non adjustable type. I bought a SEMA ignition from a 2100 for it, but never found a decent flywheel and starter to match it. I kind of like the exterior being original, I am fussy like that. The part number for the original coil for this saw is 501 48 46-01 according to the IPL

I just pulled the starter cover, the flywheel says FEMSA right on it.

Mark,
You're giving me a complex.

Sorry I know you have enough of those. :looser:

Seriously you I think I'm becoming too picky?

Sound like anyone you know? :ices_rofl:

Glad to see you stop by, this thing should be back running in a few days, maybe I'll put that 20" bar back on it for some fun.

LOL!

You're not becoming picky, just old.

Haven't been around much, too busy with 300 restaurants and the beginning of the new year, I've just been able to check in and out. I know I owe you a couple phone calls, my apologies. Plus, with what else this lovely life has to offer, at least recently, just sucks. BTW, the 20" and 24" bars on mine are a riot with what I cut with mine. I know they can handle a lot more, I just don't have it to work with at the moment. Hope all is well with you and yours! Others will criticize for the short bars on these saws. Let me just say, F you, I'm just having fun.

Your title is "direction of the 1100CD"

Maybe the "direction" should be a little further south. PM me for shipping info.....

:greenchainsaw:

The only obvious problem I see is the hard-nose bar - it will slow the saw down, for sure! :chainsaw::givebeer:

:ices_rofl: Oh man from the land of little trees, what are we going to do with you?

I don't care for hardnose bars much either, but trust me, with the short bar on that saw, it won't notice or care that it is a hardnosed or not.

It will not slow that one down.

I went to the local saw shop this morning to see if the owner could track down a FESMA ignition module and walked out the door with this running 2100CD that has the parts I need for the SEM ignition conversion. $50. later:

Looking good. I have a clean Femsa set out of a smashed saw here I was going to offer but it looks like you got the parts you need.

That's a HUGE score for 50 bones. Things are finally looking up for your dejected 1100! Looks like that 40-year-old saw will live again!!

Hey! Congrats on fixing your chainsaw. Do you know a good internet store where i could buy new or used parts for Husquvarna 1100, 263 or 163 models. I can only find parts for newer models... i need a back handle (black plastic part only) for my 263cd.

Thank you
