DIY firestarters

Walmart has firestarters, $10 for a box that will last me for a season. Makes about 140 fires.
Strike a Fire is the brand. I break up the sticks into 3 pieces and light with a match or lighter.
 
I use whats left over from after splitting. Old feed sacks or minerals tubes make good containers for storage along with the propane torch.
 
I've been making those paper bricks all summer long outta cardboard and shredded paper. A little dribble of old cooking oil, or in a pinch diesel, and the firebox is ready to go
 
I just use pine bedding that we use for dog houses. Wad up a newspaper and throw a handfull of those chips on top and then load the stove with smallish size wood. I dont take time to split kindlin, left overs from the wood splitters do fine. One match,close the door of the stove and forget about it.
